Russell Churcher Court’s residents’ rooms and communal areas are kept spotlessly clean and tidy – it is essential to the excellence of the care we provide. And it is important in providing a hygienic, professional and efficient working environment for the Thorngate Living team.

Thorngate Living at Russell Churcher Court also runs a busy laundry service for residents. We are currently looking for a reliable and flexible team member to work both on the cleaning side and in the laundry service. Hard work, a positive attitude and attention to detail are essential requirements and full training will be given.

 

Job purpose

  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness within Russell Churcher Court including communal areas and flatlets
  • The maintenance of high standards of laundry as directed
  • Maintain safe systems of work at all times

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure all communal areas and staff areas are kept to a high standard of cleanliness.
  • Clean residents’ rooms with due regard to their safety and privacy.
  • Report any defects within the building and laundry (including machine breakdowns) to the senior person on duty.
  • Ensure all procedures and instructions relating to Health and Safety are adhered to including correct use, storage and maintenance of cleaning materials within COSHH Regulations 1994 and as per Russell Churcher Court’s policy.
  • To sort, wash and iron the residents’ laundry and, as necessary, catering and domestic items, curtains and other drapery items.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the laundry area.
  • To clean filters in dryer and washing machines as instructed.
  • To attend training/staff meetings as required by the Trust to ensure that the best possible service is provided to our residents and to each other.
  • Completing paperwork as required.
  • Deliver breakfast trays to residents’ rooms as required.
