Compassionate care and continuous improvement are at the heart of Russell Churcher Court. We are committed to ongoing improvements at all times and training measures to meet the Care Quality Commission’s rigorous standards.
Latest developments in care
A registered provider of residential care
As a registered provider of residential care, Russell Churcher Court is subject to the regulatory oversight of the Care Quality Commission (CQC) which, as the independent regulator of health and social care in England, maintains a regime of rigorous inspections.
Our most recent CQC inspection published 16 April 2020, confirmed the care home as Good and we are proud of all the staff who contributed to this. This does not mean we will be resting on our laurels. As a team we are all committed to providing outstanding care and we will continue to strive to do this.
Annual report
We regularly detail the improvements we have achieved, and the ones we are planning, in our annual report, copies of which are freely available from the administration office at Clare House and here on the website in our Document Library
Continuously improving our care
Powerful care benchmarking
We are part of a cohort of selected care homes trialling a new benchmarking platform linked to market-leading care planning software, Person Centred Software. The beta project, which will go live later this year, compares rich data across many areas with those of over 100 homes. We can then understand where we are performing well and where we may need to focus more effort to bring ourselves in line with the norms.
Chief Executive Anne Taylor said: “Benchmarking is a powerful tool which we already embrace in our housing work. While no organisation is exactly comparable with another it is an extremely powerful technique to take real-time data from multiple organisations and understand where we sit in relation to them. Using data to improve our care provision is important to us and we work continuously to ensure the data is of a high quality.
Values training for all
Everyone completes values training early on with the organisation; this informal but powerful exercise ensures ensure everyone is aligned with the charity’s values. Through inciteful facilitation, small groups explore various scenarios and conclude with everyone understanding how their attitudes and behaviours match the charity’s values and feeling empowered to hold themselves and others to account.
The programme has been designed, developed and delivered by Chief Executive, Anne Taylor.
Nurturing talented people
Hollie Hall, Deputy Care Manager at Russell Churcher Court in Gosport, has been named in The Care Show’s prestigious Thirty Under 30 list for 2024. This program highlights young talent in the care sector and celebrates future leaders.
Since joining Thorngate Churcher Trust in 2023, Hollie has demonstrated exceptional dedication to ensuring the care home residents receive the highest quality care, as well as exceptional team management skills.
