Housing residents scoop an amazing 19 awards at Gosport in Bloom

“Oh what a night” as the song goes. Our amazing residents from our three housing schemes in Gosport have triumphed again in the Gosport in Bloom competition with an unbelievable nineteen awards. Their achievements reflect the hard work, commitment and sense of community they have created working together to produce beautiful gardens and joyous times.

Awards received included Best Retirement Housing – we were thrilled that Melrose Gardens was overall gold winner, and we won two silvers. We also scooped Best Front Garden (gold, silver and bronze, Best Container (gold and two silver), Best Wildlife Garden (gold and silver) and the Best Designed Front Garden (bronze). Other awards were Best Street (silver), Best Business (silver), Best Allotment (silver), Best Bee/butterfly (gold and silver), and Most Unusual Plant (two silver).
Chief Executive Anne Taylor said: “Individual talent, both in gardening and garden furniture, colour and design have all come together to create something amazing. The residents are justifiably proud of their achievements and the board and I are proud of all they have done for our special communities at Thorngate Churcher Trust.”
The awards were presented by the Mayor of Gosport, Cllr Kirsten Bradley who visited us in the summer; it was lovely to see her again.
