Thorngate’s chief executive Anne Taylor is set to be one of the main stage speakers at this year’s Acuity Benchmarking Conference which attracts delegates from across the smaller housing association world and takes place in London in April.
Anne will join Carolyn Sims from Charity Bank and Andrew Markham, a development consultant to talk about how housing associations can continue to grow and develop.
The talk will be based on Thorngate’s own journey to achieve its development aspirations which include the current project to build a new sheltered accommodation development in Gosport.
Building work for this is due for completion in 2025 and Anne will be talking about the challenges involved in reaching this stage.
“Many similar size organisations don’t always follow their aspirations because they know they will face so many challenges in terms of processes and funding but what Carolyn, Andrew and I will be talking about is how to navigate these challenges,” said Anne.
“With a good board involved, determination, and the support of organisations such as Charity Bank and Homes England it is possible to expand and I hope that our experience will help more smaller operators realise their own ambitions.”
