At Thorngate we are saddened to announce that our chief information officer Mark Child has died.

Mark worked with Thorngate for the last five years providing invaluable help to the trust and helped the management team power the organisation forward.

Chief executive Anne Taylor paid tribute to Mark and his contribution to Thorngate.

“Mark had boundless energy and was a bundle of positivity. He was central to our transformation over the last five years and helped me convert ideas into processes that worked across our whole business.

“Mark was able to interpret the innovative ideas I had to do things differently and bring them to life practically and he was instrumental in ensuring all new systems were fit for purpose and could be integrated into the management information dashboards he created using Power BI.

“He has been a critical friend to me and to all of us who knew and worked with him, and a huge hole has now been left in our lives.”

We send our sincere condolences to Mark’s family, especially his wife Gerry and his two children Emma and Max.
