“We have ambitious plans to expand our current portfolio of supported housing in the future and we are delighted to be joined by our new trustees who bring us additional property and business expertise as we move forward,” said chief executive Anne Taylor.
Oli is a commercial property lawyer with Glanvilles in Fareham and said he is already enjoying being part of a vibrant team with ambitious plans for the future.
“Being a trustee here means I can use my professional experience to help shape the future of the trust and also gives me the opportunity to give something back to the community,” said Oli.
He has been joined as a trustee by Reeta Ram who is founder of DPR Housing and Dementia Partners – experience which Anne says gives her great insight into the work and aims of the trust.
“Being a trustee gives me the opportunity to provide support to the board and chief executive leading the charity that is making a real difference to individuals in society as a whole,” said Reeta. “I aim to contribute my skills and expertise to a cause that is important to myself, the care and support of vulnerable people within the community.”
The final new trustee is John Clark who works for Radian as a housing manager dealing with customers across Hampshire, Wiltshire and Dorset.
“I am committed to ensuring good practice within the industry and I want to see the very best outcomes possible for staff and customers alike in the position of trustee,” said John.
Anne said the new trustees have been generous in offering their skills and knowledge and in return they will gain valuable experience of charity governance, social care and social housing, acquire new skills and work in a team of people who share a passion for improving outcomes for older people.
“We have always been fortunate in having a good mix of trustees and we are delighted to welcome these three new recruits who bring new ideas and experience from their own business backgrounds,” said Anne.
She said that having this diversity of trustees both now and in the future will enable Thorngate to continue to thrive and provide the social housing and social care which is so vital in Gosport.
