Russell Churcher Court was built in 1993 and has a warm, friendly and caring atmosphere. Many of our staff have been with us since we opened. The home has 44 self-contained flats, each flat having its own front door opening onto a corridor. Each accommodation comprises a bedsitting room with mostly south facing windows, toilet, shower and a small kitchenette with a fitted refrigerator. Residents are therefore able to provide themselves with hot drinks if they wish. We encourage all our residents to furnish their rooms with their own furniture and belongings to help ease the transition from their old home to their new one.
Short stay respite accommodation is available to enable prospective residents to decide whether the services provided meet their needs. And a guest room is available for relatives who have travelled and need an overnight stay close to their loved one.
The home has an experienced management team, led by Acting Care Home Manager, Sally Malyon and care is taken to ensure that the focus is on the individual needs of each resident. The staffing ratios are consistently good and the balanced rotas highlight well trained staff and skill levels. Sally's team enjoy excellent and effective working relationships with all of the local health care providers and Multi-Disciplinary teams.
